5.5 Wann lernst du?

Servus!
Zum Aufwärmen machen wir unseren Tagesminiplausch und eine Wiederholung.
Wiederholung
In the previous lesson, you learned how to tell time by the 24-hour clock and how to say when your classes are. Let’s review what you have learned.
Wann hast du Kurse? In your written journal write when your classes are. If you have afternoon classes, try to write the times using the 24-hour format.
Lektionsüberblick
In this lesson, we will continue to expand on your ability to talk about your studies. This lesson will focus on the word for studying and when/how often you study. In the end, you will be able to 1) use the correct word for studying and 2) say on which days of the week you study for class.
1) Ich lerne für ein Examen.
The word studieren is only used in German in connection with your degree program. Unless German is your major or minor, you cannot say “Ich studiere Deutsch“, because this sentence only means that you are majoring or minoring in German. Instead, you say “Ich lerne Deutsch.”
Lernen means learning, but also to do homework, to prepare for class, to study for a class, exam, etc. If you want to state what you are specifically doing for lernen, check out the Kleinen Hinweis.
Kleiner Hinweis
| Ich mache Hausaufgaben. I am doing homework. |
Ich lerne für ein Examen. I am studying for an exam. |
Ich arbeite an einem Projekt. I am working on a project. |
Let’s practice with this activity.
Jetzt bist du dran!
Now record this in German in your audio journal. If you can do it immediately without reading, that’s great! Otherwise, practice saying it a couple times before recording. Or rerecord, if you are not satisfied.
