In this final lesson on travel, we will look at dream vacations. Where would you go and what would you do, if time and money were unlimited? At the end of this lesson, you will be able talk about your dream vacation including, 1) the kind of travel, location, and travel companion(s) you would choose, 2) the transportation and lodging you would choose, and 3) the sightseeing and activities you would choose.
1) Wann, wohin und mit wem würdest du fahren?
If the sky was the limit, where would you choose to go? When and with whom? Sometimes it is nice to have traditions, places that you visit every year, but sometimes it is fun to dream a little. If you remember, that is when the word würden comes into play, Ich würde…

2) Transportmittel und Unterkünfte
As you learned in previous lessons, often there are many choices in how you might get to a Reiseziel (destination) and where you might stay (Unterkünfte) once you are there. Wie ist es mit dir? How would you travel and where would you stay if you had your choice? Read and listen to some possible answers to that question. Then answer the questions that follow.

Wie würdest du reisen? Wo würdest du übernachten, wenn du deine Traumreise planen würdest? Consider your dream transportation and accommodations and describe them in your written journal. Then imagine you are sharing this information with a friend. Record your description in your audio journal.
3) Sehenswürdigkeiten und Aktivitäten
The best part of a trip for many is the destination and all that you can see and do there. Was würdest du auf deiner Reise machen? Maybe there is something that you would try for the first time. Remember when Sofia described her trip to Liechtenstein. Read and listen to how she talk about trying things.

Now let’s put it all together. Write a short paragraph (5-8 sentences) in which you describe your dream trip. You can start with the following prompt and use your answers from the previous exercises to build your paragraph:
Wenn ich reich wäre, würde ich nach … reisen.
Be sure to answer the following questions in your paragraph:
- Wann, wohin und mit wem würdest du reisen?
- Warum würdest du dorthin reisen?
- Wie würdest du reisen?
- Wo würdest du übernachten, wenn du deine Traumreise planen würdest?
- Was würdest du auf deiner Traumreise machen oder probieren?
