About

Welcome to the University of Wyoming Libraries’ Pressbooks platform! Whether your goal is to find, adopt, adapt, or create Open Educational Resources (OER), we’re glad you’re here.

OER are teaching and learning materials published under an open copyright license, frequently a Creative Commons license, which permits others to freely use, revise, remix, and share the material. These resources can exist in numerous formats including books, articles, websites, videos, images, and other types of digital or print materials.

UW Libraries is proud to support the creation and implementation of OER through our Alt-Textbook Grant Program. We invite motivated faculty interested in innovative engagement with their course materials to submit ideas for funding, with awards of up to $2,500 for OER adoption and up to $5,000 for adaptation and creation possible.

Pressbooks provides software to streamline the process of producing and remixing interactive OER. Please contact us if you are interested in using the platform for an OER project! You need not be an Alt-Textbook Grant applicant to express interest or utilize the system, though the number of books we can publish is limited.

We’ll look forward to working with you to develop your OER and to explore publication options!
