8 Typical Speech Transcription
The transcription of typical speech is sometimes referred to as systematic transcription. This means we are transcribing the language as it is intended to sound. In other words, we are not thinking about how a word sounds when it comes out of a person’s mouth in “real life” but as it might appear if someone looked up pronunciation in a dictionary. You can find examples of systematic transcription in nearly all Wikipedia articles.
