1.4 Meine Lieblingsfarbe

Hallo zusammen!

Let’s warm up with our daily small talk (Tagesminiplausch) and a brief review (Wiederholung).

Wiederholung

Practice what you learned last week by completing this memory game.

Jetzt bist du dran!

In your written journal or in your audio journal, introduce yourself. Try to include a greeting, your name, your pronouns if desired, how to spell your name (audio only), and your age.

Lektionsüberblick

In this lesson, we will expand our introductory conversation. In the end, you will be able to 1) name some colors and 2) say what your favorite color is.

1) Name some colors

Learning the colors (die Farben) might seem like kid stuff, but it is an important skill for expressing your preferences, clothes, and the world around you. Learn the colors in these interactive ways.

2) How to say what your favorite color is

Jetzt bist du dran!

Listen to Sara introduce herself. Then, in your written or audio journal, answer Sara’s question and tell what your favorite color is. You can answer with one word. Or, if you are feeling confident, you can say, Meine Lieblingsfarbe ist [insert favorite color].

Since 1996, the Rainbow Parade has taken place as part of “Vienna Pride”. The parade is both a colorful, laid back procession as well as a political demonstration in favor of LGBTQI rights.

Zum Schluß

In this lesson, you learned to say 1) name some colors and 2) say what your favorite color is. If you are feeling unsure about any part of the expanded introduction, go back to that section and review.
Now write out where you live and what your favorite color is and then record yourself in your audio journal. If you can do it immediately without reading, that’s great! Otherwise, practice saying it a couple times before recording. Or rerecord, if you are not satisfied.

*As you conclude this lesson, don’t forget to check Canvas!*
