This final unit on your home imagines your place after a crazy party to introduce how to talk about where things were in your apartment and where things need to be put so that your home is tidy. You may rarely (if ever) experience this situation, but many of the structures you will review and learn will be transferable to other topics. At the end of this lesson, you will be able to 1) say where things were in your apartment, 2) say where everything needs to go, and 3) say where you put everything.
1) Wo war alles? Wo ist alles gewesen?
Ach du meine Güte! Das war ein verrückter Abend! Oh no! That was a crazy evening! Wie ist der Teppich an die Decke gekommen? How did the rug end up on the ceiling?
Before we know how to put everything back in order, we first have to know, where everything was.

Wo war alles? Look around your room (or, if you’re not at home, think about your room): What things are not in their proper place? Pick at least three items and state where they were before. Use the activity above as a model.
When you are done, look over the model again and check if your spelling and structures match with the model. Then record your description in your audio journal. Be sure to listen to your recording and rerecord, if you are not satisfied.

The final step will be to say where we put things.

Wo hast du alles hingetan? Now that your room is cleaned up (at least in your mind!), write down what you did to tidy up. Use the model above. Be sure to use the model instead of just thinking about what you would say in English. It’s important that you use your German!
