3.12 Kleidungspräferenzen

Hallo alle zusammen!

Zum Aufwärmen machen wir unseren Tagesminiplausch und eine Wiederholung.

Wiederholung

In the previous lesson you learned how to describe clothing in more detail and how to describe the frequency with which you wear certain clothing. Let’s review.

Jetzt bist du dran!

Was trägst du heute? Answer the question in your written journal with the German you know. If you are not remembering all of the necessary words, go back to lesson 3.11 and review.

Lektionsüberblick

In this lesson, we will expand and conclude our conversation about clothing to talk clothing we like, including our favorites, and what kinds of things we like to wear. In the end, you will be able to 1) say which clothing you like to wear, 2) name some clothing that you do not like to wear, and 3) talk about your preferences in clothing.

Was weißt du schon?

Let’s start with a skill check.

Noch nicht start klar?

Du kannst immer auf die gleiche 1010-Lektion zurückgreifen!

Not confident about starting this lesson?

You can always review the same Lektion from 1010.

1) Ich trage gern…

Was trägst du gern? Read how the characters respond.

For more info on adding gern to a sentence, check out this video.

Kleiner Hinweis

You might notice that there is a difference between saying you like to do something (e.g. I like to wear a baseball cap.) versus you like some thing/object (e.g. I like the baseball cap). Look again at the two structures to see the difference.
Ich trage gern eine Baseballkappe.
Die Baseballkappe gefällt mir.

Let’s practice. Remember to click through to each question.

Jetzt bist du dran!

Was trägst du gern? Using the language from this lesson and the last, answer the question in your written journal.
Then record yourself aloud in your audio journal. If you can do it immediately without reading, that’s great! Keine Sorgen (no worries), if not.

2) Ich trage nicht gern…

You recall the little German word nicht, right?

Let’s practice!

Jetzt bist du dran!

Was trägst du nicht gern? Look at the clothing in this lesson and write down 2-3 pieces of clothing you do not like to wear in your written journal. Then read it aloud in your audio journal.

3) Clothing preferences

You might remember from Deutsch im Alltag I (or from your previous German experience) that the word Lieblings- is a word that you can place in front of an object to indicate favorite. Keep that in mind when you see the following phrases below: lieber and am liebsten. When you read the sentences below, can you guess whether they are talking about the items of clothing in a positive or negative way?

Ich trage lieber Jeans als Leggings.

Ich trage Trainingshosen am liebsten.

Zum Schluß

In this lesson, you learned how to 1) say which clothing you like to wear, 2) name some clothing that you do not like to wear, and 3) talk about your preferences in clothing. If you are feeling unsure about any part of today’s lesson, go back to that section and review.
Was trägst du gern? Was trägst du lieber als Jeans? Was trägst du gern? Thinking about the items of clothing from this and previous lessons, answer the questions in your written journal. Use Julia’s answer as a model:
Ich trage gern einen blau-gelb gestreiften Rock mit einer blauen Bluse und Sandalen.
Ich trage lieber eine Jeans mit T-Shirt als ein schickes Kleid.
Ich trage am liebsten eine weiche Trainingshose mit einem Pullover.
When you are done, record your answer in your audio journal. If your answers do not flow mostly naturally, practice saying them before recording (again). As always, you can always meet up with a classmate or other German speaker to have a more authentic German-language conversation.
